So, generally, I understand the overall mask concept
However, I think it is more about good feelings and demonstrating that you 'care'(and I do not disagree that it will prevent some numbers of cases - I believe that number is relatively small).
I do my absolute best when I go to the grocery store to stay 6'(or more) away from people. The mask adds a layer of condensation and extra time spent with my hands about my face, etc.
Everything I have read(actually reading scientific stuff vs. news reporting on scientific stuff) thus far is that unless someone coughs or sneezes in your general direction, 6' keeps you about as safe as possible. Wash your hands, avoid crowds, don't touch your nose, mouth, or eyes, use hand sanitizer, and you're about as good to go as you can be. The mask is the final little flourish that really wasn't necessary.
I'll wear one and figure it out. It's not something that's worth that much hassle from people either giving me dirty looks or saying something to me, I just think we have been whip-sawed every which way by the 'experts' racing from one conclusion to the next without sound logical reasoning(I probably should not only say logical, but mathematically sound). In a matter of a week or so, the mask has become the only thing that matters. It shouldn't be.
